On Saturday I was fortunate enough to be part of a small group that spent a few hours with Massimo Vignelli and his wonderful wife Lella as they were being filmed for a documentary film by one of my Profs at VCU. I’m not sure how Massimo does it, but you can ask him one question and he can come up with the most eloquent answer that just makes complete sense, or maybe it doesn’t and you’re just so fascinated by his words that you can’t tell.

Here’s one of my favorite things that he had to say. The topic was students and what he feels about the ego of a student. Vignelli of course formulated a 10 minute response talking about his own ego barely fitting into the room and said, “discipline is an attitude that one has to cultivate”. Brilliance.

And just so you know their space is as amazing as the pictures I posted from NY Mag.

I am putting myself up for adoption and if the Vignelli’s will have me I promise I will kern every morning and every night before bed. I’ll even keep my room a minimal, clutterless space. Thanks again to Jamie for the invite and maybe I will photoshop the fatness out of my picture with them and put it up.

What’s with the random photo of the Bookstack From Hell? That thing’s going to topple over and dink someone upside the head any second now.

for the love of christ, don’t photoshop your own photo. there may be nothing wrong with seal wearing a gay scarf, but i find something really wrong with photoshopping your own photos.

ok, so i once photoshopped pantylines out of a picture of my butt. however, i feel like that is different, because my pantylines were there, and i’m pretty sure you don’t look fat in your picture.

Yah graymi, you’re such a pretty boy!

I know at least one girl who thinks so…

you could see the stack of books in the ny mag pictures. when i went in to the studio i couldn’t stop staring at the stack because i wanted to see what he was reading. of course both of his books are on top.
