We are now going to address a fine feature video from Lil’ Mama, Chris Brown, and T-Pain. I would embed it but it’s so amazing they won’t allow it.
The only thing more busted than Lil’ Mama’s face, weaves, and her dance moves, is her blatant rip-off of Michael and Janet Jackson’s Scream video, still one of my favorite videos though it was made 13 years ago. Scream is still reported to be one of the most expensive music videos of all times, an estimated $7m, by the genius that is Mark Romanek.
Of course Romanek’s futuristic look and style was directly lifted by Hype Williams, and he went on to use it as the stepping stone to his career. In case you can’t tell I really don’t care for Hype Williams. He is also notorious for charging upwards of $5m per video that looks like it should cost $25. And just so you know I also don’t like Dave Meyers or Joseph Kahn. I REALLY don’t like them, but Hype is the number 1 on my list.
But anyways you can watch the original, then you can watch Hype rip it off, then you can watch Lil’ Mama put her mug all over it. Love the spandex and the splits though. She’s a classy chickenhead.
Update: I just found out that the Lil’ Mama video was directed by R. Malcolm Jones. Whoever he is. Here’s his credentials.
