Interesting analysis of the evolution of automobile logos throughout the years. Lots of shiny web 2.0 in there.

Superbad is probably one of my favorite films of 2007. Scoff all you want but sometimes the inner 13 year old boy in me just needs some pre-pubescent humor to make it through life – evidenced by my love of Sorority Boys, White Chicks, and Jackass. Yeah, but I can do the documentaries and indies too so there.
One of the things I enjoyed the most about Superbad, aside from the crude humor, was the opening sequence with Michael Cera and Jonah Hill dancing their way through Too Hot to Stop. If you haven’t watched the dvd there is a special feature that has the making of the title sequence which is equally brilliant.
The sequence was created by Greg Mottola and Yard VFX.
Also jumping on the nostalgia bandwagon is Snoop and by now you’ve probably seen the video for Sensual Seduction.
A completely different video altogether but it is somewhat reminiscent of Superbad (in a strange sort of way) but probably more akin to MJ’s Don’t Stop. I like the video quite a bit, though I don’t really understand when Snoop became a soul singer, I’m sure there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation but personally I like my Snoop sippin’ on gin & juice, laid back. One exception is Beautiful with Pharrell, circa 2003, which is still one of my jams. That was some smooth Snoop.
In honor of the 25th Anniversary of Thriller it seems as though everyone is trying to cash in. Jessica pointed out that Egg Beaters has a new logo, shown here.

New
Doesn’t anyone know what letterforms look like? What’s up with those tiny little descenders on the “g”. The incorporation of an italic face definitely shows the movement and progression of Egg Beaters.
Thanks be to Jessica

I doubt when William Golden designed the CBS eye in 1951 he ever imagined it would have such a pretty pretty metallic finish applied to it. I’d rather not comment on the type they’ve combined with it – who am I kidding, what a bunch of crap that is. Is it just me or are the “B” and “S” upside down? Since when has an “S” been larger at the top than at the bottom? Actually it kind of looks like C85. Maybe that’s a better move for them. Sexy.
I’m not sure when they redid this crap but good for them. Why don’t they just go ahead and give the eye a drop-shadow and some gradients. Oh wait, they already did. Viva the 2000s.
New crap
Golden masterpiece
